ACTIVITY CHECK
SUBMISSION INFO
- Activity Check consists of 20 comments between 2-3 threads. Furthermore, we will be asking for social link submissions.
- If you submit 2 social link write ups, you will receive a reward from our character regains pool.
- If you submit 3+ social link write ups, you will receive either a Magic Ointment (forms a barrier that reflects all magic spells once) or a Physical Ointment (forms a barrier that reflects all physical attacks once).
Social link submissions are essentially a short writeup; please choose, at minimum, 2 pieces of CR in which your character has experienced some sort of shift in. By "shift", we mean anything as small as "my character now likes hanging out with A" to something more dramatic like "my character trusts A with their life". Negative shifts are also welcome! Just as long as something in your chosen pieces of CR has changed.
For September:
Keep writeups to no more than 4 sentences.
AC is due on the last day of each month. We will not be issuing official reminders, and those who fail to make AC will be swept.

Argenti: They started out friendly?? Friendly and quite low-stakes, given Argenti was very nice towards Jordi when the latter had trouble with their impromptu race, and they even shared a bit about their feelings on being here after, so Jordi was perfectly willing to call him a friend and trust him! ... Then Argenti killed Fuyu and Jordi thinks he might have to walk back on that trust, even if he's very reluctant to stop calling him a friend, so he'll have to come to terms with that too and make a proper decision.
Eli: Jordi was initially quite neutral towards Eli, but the outburst at the meeting makes him super wary now. He's still willing to give Eli the benefit of the doubt and declare them friends since he sounds like he's just very emotionally unstable, but one thing is for sure: Jordi doesn't want to be a verbal punching bag for him.

Soujuurou: MY GOD they speedran from low ranks to rank 7 within a single thread because of cult survivor trauma-bonding. Shalem sees himself and his bff Phantom in Soujuurou, and would rather not see Soujuurou turn into another them, so he's going to help this kid recover from his cult trauma and get well on the way to becoming a better adult than them. He will do this!!
Atem: He doesn't know how to describe this CR, like, at all. He is extremely grateful that Atem helped him summon Braphine, and he won't deny a connection because they actually did it successfully. He doubts she would have come if there wasn't something genuine there. However, he's unsure of what to say or think about Atem calling him a positive, protective figure, or whatever else snakes are like in his own religion. Is Atem looking at him as a person, or only trusting him through the lens of said religion?
Haruka: Haruka is insistent on friendshipping him despite Shalem's desire to not have friends. Shalem, however, has already mentioned that you can have a Braphine-approved relationship that's not friendship, there are many other connections! He's going along with this for now, unless Haruka forces him to socialize when he's unwilling or feeling particularly murderous.
Richard: Shalem went from "I will nod at him from across the hallway during missions" to "I can protect him in battle, sure". While he'd protect anyone in battle, he did get into a conversation with Richard about it, and he does appreciate the concern-- he can tell Richard is a bit of a tsun, so that makes the fact that he actually voiced a concern much nicer, in his opinion.
Aaron: The guy saw how he could go a bit insane in a fight and didn't judge him too harshly. Shalem appreciates that more than he can put into words.

[loud screaming noises from across the pacific ocean]Shalem started out slow, he was just collecting a bunch of shallow Social Links and only deepening one or two of them because he didn't want to let people know that he has a few screws loose-- and then in came Shadow Atem with the steel chair. I have said a few times that Shalem is (was, now) his own Shadow, and he is also his own worst fear because when he's trying to be normal (society-normal, not Shalem-normal), he doesn't want to be the murder cultist nicknamed Abyss, and when he's in the murder cultist mindset, he doesn't care to be "normal". It was only natural that his incompatible "selves" or desires started fighting during Atem's penalty game, and the murder theater cultist won because that's what Shalem actually is, and the persona that everyone knows was something he created to hide and suppress the cultist-- given how easily he can revert, it's clearly fragile, so of course the weaker "self" would be overcome by the stronger one. It just so happens that removing his fear of himself managed to create the best possible version of Shalem-- this one fear was holding him back from doing literally anything with his life, so now his bloodthirst is more focused, he's better rested (no more nightmares), happy and more confident, he can better adhere to the personality given to him by the Troupe.
