ACTIVITY CHECK

SUBMISSION INFO

Activity Check consists of 20 comments between 2-3 threads. Furthermore, we will be asking for social link submissions.

Social link submissions are essentially a short writeup; please choose, at minimum, 2 pieces of CR in which your character has experienced some sort of shift in. By "shift", we mean anything as small as "my character now likes hanging out with A" to something more dramatic like "my character trusts A with their life". Negative shifts are also welcome! Just as long as something in your chosen pieces of CR has changed.

For September:

• If you submit 2 social link write ups, you will receive a reward from our character regains pool.
  
• If you submit 3+ social link write ups, you will receive either a Magic Ointment (forms a barrier that reflects all magic spells once) or a Physical Ointment (forms a barrier that reflects all physical attacks once).

Keep writeups to no more than 4 sentences.

AC is due on the last day of each month. We will not be issuing official reminders, and those who fail to make AC will be swept.

Social Link Section: Maika - This CR might have started with the threat of violence over the buffet, but their similar personalities and suspicions about the situation helped Kainé lower her defenses around her a little bit.

Schneider - Not one, not two, but three swear-happy women? Kainé also bonded with Schneider over mutual irritation with their shared situation, but at the go-kart crash she started to take her competence more seriously.

Jordi - This is CR that's just starting due to undertaking the Archangel hunting commission, but Kainé has already gone from being incredulous about Jordi staying to fight when he was clearly up against poor odds with Shadows immune to his attacks to grudgingly accepting that some people just like fighting against difficult odds for what they wants.

1. Novel - A well-worn novel by a Japanese author. The last few pages have been torn out. It seems to have belonged to someone named Sakunosuke Oda.


2. An eye mask - With all its magic removed, its just a really cool mask to wear. One might believe it gives you the ability to proceed past all obstacles.

Social Link Section: Yoon - After she ended up intervening to protect Yoon and Mafuyu in Aubrey's palace last month, Kainé found herself worried by his angry, spiraling behavior. When he disappeared into palace, she found herself very worried about it and tried to break into his palace to help, having realized that she cares for him and his unfailing desire to care for others.

Aerith - Aerith caught Kainé destroying her public image and being a little soft after trying to break down the library door to get to Yoon's palace. Despite being such a prickly person, Kainé noticed that Aerith seemed a little down, and ended up vaguely friendshipped into agreeing to support her if she was ever targeted for a palace of her own. This was likely only strengthened when Aerith witnessed Kainé's memories of being bullied and harassed during the dreamscape event.

Schneider - The dreamscape event allowed Kainé to experience a dream that's different from her repeated lost memory, and Schneider was around to witness that beautiful fantasy of a happy future. Because Schneider has been exposed to the loss that Kainé feels around something that's been entirely erased from her life, Kainé has probably been more vulnerable around her than most of the other Chosen and feels comfort in her presence.

The arc for Kainé was a bit loose and short this time around, as befitting a character who's already undergone several development beats in their canon. As palaces continued and people grew their connections, Kainé often took on the role of someone who clears a path for others to get through to their loved ones, and this position wasn't really challenged, keeping her on the periphery where she's used to existing. On the other hand, if you'd told me at the beginning of the game that her deepest relationships would come into play with people who are very like her personality-wise, I wouldn't have believed it. Because those people were on the same wavelength as her, she could bond with them in a way that she might not have been able to before...instead of loathing the similarities she saw, it helped her become a little more accepting of herself. She still considers herself an outsider and will be wrapping things up with a lot of longing, but she's in a place where she can think about her feelings a little more readily.

Kaine has been granted the following skill:

PETAL DANCE: White petals surround Kaine and enable her to be more agile. They will continue to swirl around her as she engages her enemies in battle, making her more obscure and harder for her enemies to spot. For flavor, the amount of petals she gains will double if she's fighting alongside someone else. At the end of her attack, Kaine can jump high into the air, and the petals will all gain sharp edges. They will rain down on her enemies and cut into them, dealing severe multi-target psy damage.

Additionally, you will receive an outfit upgrade upon summoning your Persona! The design is entirely up to you and is purely cosmetic.

This will come into play effective 10/26.
